Yumiere crystals

London · Crystal Jewellery & Workshops

Not just our story,
but yours

You are the light. We just remind you.

Who We Are

玉 · Light

Yumiere blends two words that hold the heart of everything we do. 玉 (yù) — the Chinese word for jade and precious gemstone — and lumière — the French word for light.

Together they represent our belief: that the earth's stones carry real energy, and that the right crystal in the right hands can illuminate something within you that was always there.

We're based in London. We run intimate in-person workshops and handcraft bespoke crystal jewellery for people who want to wear something made with intention — not just decoration.

"Healing is not something that happens to you. It's something you choose."

The Person Behind It

Meet Niki

🎓

PhD Researcher

Niki studies Human–AI Interaction. Her days are spent understanding how people and technology connect — deeply analytical, deeply human.

💎

Crystal Maker

Three months into her thesis she hit a wall. She found her way back to herself through gemstones, making bracelets for friends, learning the language of crystals.

Workshop Host

What began as a personal ritual became a brand. Now Niki shares her knowledge through workshops and one-on-one jewellery consultations in London.

The Science Behind It

Why wearing something
you made actually works

I'm a researcher, so I don't make claims I can't back up. When I started making crystal bracelets, I wasn't drawn to the mysticism — I was drawn to the psychological mechanism. And that mechanism is real, peer-reviewed, and replicable.

It's called enclothed cognition (Adam & Galinsky, 2012). The research shows that wearing objects with personal symbolic meaning doesn't just change how others perceive you — it changes how you think, how you attend to the world, and the micro-decisions you make throughout the day.

The key word in that research is personal. The effect is amplified when the symbolic meaning is something you chose and assigned yourself — not something someone told you. That's exactly what happens when you make your own piece with a specific intention.

When you string a bracelet with the intention of, say, staying calm under pressure — and you wear it every day — it becomes a physical anchor. A cue. Every time you notice it on your wrist, your brain is primed back toward that state. You start noticing opportunities aligned with your intention. You make small decisions that reinforce it. Over time, that compounds.

This is the same principle behind behavioural cues, implementation intentions, and environmental design in cognitive psychology. The object externalises your goal into the physical world — where it can reliably interrupt and redirect your attention without any conscious effort.

The crystal isn't magic. The making is the ritual — the act of sitting with your intention, choosing a stone that represents it, and putting it on your wrist. That deliberate process is what creates the psychological imprint. And imprints, backed by consistent attention, drive real change.

"The object externalises your intention into the physical world — where it can reliably redirect your attention without conscious effort."
